Information Management
Through The Information Management Group (TIMG), Freightways offers secure and efficient data management solutions, including document storage, digitisation, and destruction services, catering to businesses’ evolving information needs.
Temperature-Controlled Logistics
Big Chill Distribution specialise in the transport of temperature-sensitive goods, ensuring the integrity of products such as food and pharmaceuticals through state-of-the-art refrigerated logistics.

How We Support You
The Freightways Graduate Programme is a two-year programme that allows you to experience what it’s like to work, in real roles, across our various different businesses.
You will rotate four times over your two years, each time taking up a real role that exists inside one of our businesses.
A Structured and Meaningful Induction experience
On your first few days you will be met by key members of the team – including your Manager, Buddy and Mentor. We will introduce you to the Group and its various businesses – who we are, how we work, generate revenue. You will learn about our history, what it means to be NZX and ASX and hear from the Senior Leadership Team and CEO.
Manager, Mentor, Buddy
During the selection process, we hope to get to know you a little better. Based on these interactions, we will connect you with a mentor that will provide regular guidance on your career and work, a buddy who will help to introduce you to people and work at Freightways and help you find your own network, and a manager to lead you through your roles at Freightways
Corporate Projects
You will work on meaningful projects that have the scope to impact and enhance the group as a whole. Projects will be led by members of the Senior Leadership Team and CEO and could see you working on a range of different challenges from Climate, to Safety. You will have time out to work on these projects and spend time with the Project Lead – giving you exposure and opportunity to learn from our most Senior Experts.
Connection & Networking
On your first day you will get the opportunity to spend time connecting with your cohort of Graduates – you will start at the same time, and travel through your rotations together. We encourage you lean on your peer group both professionally and socially.
Regular Training and Information Sharing
During your 2 years you will have access to various learning and development opportunities. You will have a structured induction, Role training for each rotation and various different trainings including regular Graduate seminars and leadership sessions.
Reverse Mentoring
At Freightways, we’ve been doing what we do for a long time, but we know there is always room to learn and improve. During the programme we would love to hear from you about how you think we can innovate or do things better. We call this ‘reverse mentoring’ where you have the opportunity to share your view of the world with us and our leadership team.

Full-Time Permanent Role After the Programme
All going well, graduates will be offered a permanent role at the end of the programme.

Video Interview
If you’re selected, you’ll be invited to record and send in your video interview – it’s easy and we’ll provide you with all the information you need.
Face-to-face Interview
If your video interview is successful, we’ll invite you for a face-to-face interview either in person at our Auckland Headquarters or online on Microsoft Teams. We’ll then contact you when a decision has been made to let you know the outcome.
Pre-employment Checks
If you’re offered a role with us, we’ll complete the necessary employment checks.
Formal Job Offer
We’ll then send you a formal job offer online. We start recruiting in July/August and all our Graduates start in mid- February.
